Two bosses named Axel and Oserk are a pair of tough opponents in Palworld who are quite difficult to beat without a plan. Oserk is a Dragon-/Electric-type Pal with incredible offensive power that Axel rides on while attacking your character and team members. Understanding Oserk’s moves, the relationships between Pal typings, and the boss arena’s environment are crucial to victory.

It is recommended that you reach at least Level 40 before challenging the pair of Axel and Oserk. The easy way to take out bosses in Palworld is to progress even further, so you may want to climb to Level 46 or 50 to unlock new Technology recipes. Access to better gear can change this overwhelming battle into something you can approach confidently.

You can level up quickly by catching and defeating different Pals in the world, or by crafting new items and structures at your base whenever you can.

Where to Find Axel and Oserk

Both Axel and Oserk can be found in the Eternal Pyre Tower, which is also known as the Tower of the Brothers of the Eternal Pyre in Palworld. The bosses are at the very top of the Tower, within the larger volcano of Mount Obsidian on the southwest section of your map. Reaching this place can be a dangerous trek through fiery landscapes and the dens of high-level Fire-type Pals.

One of the best ways to travel here is on top of a flying mount in Palworld, which you can ride through the air if you craft a Saddle for certain creatures. Use the Foot of the Volcano fast travel point to warp from your base to the foot of the mountain first. From that location, it will be easy to soar up to the Tower without having to run into different enemies or face environmental hazards.

A Saddle for a flying mount can only be crafted if you have captured a specific type of Pal with a Partner Skill that allows you to use it as a flying mount. For example, you can’t craft a Saddle for a Nitewing unless you have caught it already.

Best Gear and Pals to Use Against Axel and Oserk

Palworld Pal Sphere with Ground-type Legendary Pal Anubis

The Dragon-/Electric-type Oserk is weak to Pals who use Ice or Ground-type attacks during the boss fight. Pals like Reindrix or Digtoise in Palworld could be excellent additions to your team due to the elements they control. Catching Legendary Alpha Bosses such as the Ground-type Anubis or the Ice-type Frostallion could also give you a Pal with far better stats to take on Oserk in battle.

Frostallion is perhaps the best Pal to use in the boss fight against Oserk since its passive ability boosts the attacking power of all Ice-type Pals on your team during a battle.

If you don’t have any Ground or Ice-type Pals, you can teach any creature different elemental attacks with a Skill Fruit. This type of food can be found on Skill Fruit Trees scattered across your map, which have a chance to grow Ground or Ice consumables. Feeding this type of Fruit to your Pal will let it learn at least one attack that takes advantage of Oserk’s weaknesses in Palworld.

Building a Statue of Power in Palworld can also provide a stat boost to every Pal on your team before you face off against Oserk and Axel. Spending Pal Souls allows you to bolster the Attack, Defense, or Max HP of your strongest Pals by 3%. Fusing the same type of Pal in the Pal Distillation Pod is another great way to empower your best companions for the boss fight ahead.

Assuming your character has reached a Technology Level of at least 40, the best gear you can bring to this fight is the Double-Barreled Shotgun and Refined Metal Helm. The Shotgun deals high damage at close range, which can be a perfect way to injure Axel while your Pals attack Oserk. The Metal Helm greatly reduces incoming damage in Palworld, similar to Shields which can also raise your defenses.

How to Defeat Axel and Oserk

The best strategy for defeating both bosses is to use the pillars in the boss arena to avoid attacks, recognize Oserk’s moves, and target Axel with your gun. The Oserk that Axel commands is Level 50, so it will have every possible attack the Pal can learn. Memorizing what each attack looks like in Palworld will help you take the right steps to avoid the damage each move inflicts.

Every Pal In Palworld Has A Secret Attack Bonus (& You Might Not Be Using It)

There’s more than meets the eye when it comes to optimization in Palworld, so it’s important not to miss out on any hidden basic features.

Oserk Attack Move List

Attack Type

Orserk’s exclusive skill. Summons a blade of lightning while leaping into the air before throwing it at an enemy.

Lightning Strike

Acts as a lightning rod, calling down thunderbolts that electrocute the surrounding area.

Spark Blast

The user releases a lightning ball that expands outward in a forward, circular pattern.

Draconic Breath

Exhales breath imbued with draconic energy, dealing continuous damage to those in front of it.

Lightning Streak

Generates a lightning bolt that moves forward in a line.

Generates lightning that strikes an enemy three times from above.

Lightning Bolt

Charges electric energy before blasting enemies with a powerful shock.

As seen in a video by YouTube creator MonkeyKingHero, summoning your Pals behind the various Pillars in the boss arena can protect them from Oserk’s attacks. This prevents the large Area of Effect (AoE) Electric-type attacks from Oserk from hitting your team members before they can act. You should also use these large stone structures to hide your own character from any dangerous lightning strikes.

Axel is the weak point area you need to target on Oserk, so aim your strongest firearm at the rival trainer and open fire. Landing hits on Oserk’s draconic exterior will hardly deal any damage unless you are using an Ice or Ground-type Pal attack. The combination of your character’s guns hitting Axel and your Pals exploiting Oserk’s weaknesses will eventually lead to victory against both bosses.

Taking down these two in the Eternal Pyre Tower rewards you with Character XP, Pal XP, and 5 Ancient Technology Points that can be spent on unlocking new gear, weapons, or building recipes. Managing to beat Axel and Oserk in Palworld also gives you a new fast travel point to the Tower, which gives you an additional Technology Point.
