A new clip from The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes shows a very different Hunger Games from what audiences have seen before. The upcoming movie is adapted from the Hunger Games prequel novel of the same name, which follows the origins of the Hunger Games antagonist President Coriolanus Snow (Tom Blyth). The movie will see him mentoring the District 12 tribute, musician Lucy Gray Baird (Rachel Zegler), and forging a bond that makes her potential death during the violent games a complicated prospect.
Rotten Tomatoes Coming Soon has shared a brand-new exclusive clip from the Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes movie, featuring Lucy struggling to find her footing at the beginning of the Hunger Games. Check it out below:
The clip sees the very beginning of the tenth Hunger Games, which takes place in a much cruder arena than the ones shown in the original trilogy, which takes place decades later. As Snow looks on in horror, Lucy attempts to find the other District 12 tribute, Jessup (Nick Benson), rather than seeking a weapon as other tributes begin to attack.
More to come…
