In Animal Crossing: New Horizons, November marks the start of the festive season, with major events and lots of rare critters to catch in both hemispheres. By the end of the month, Northern Hemisphere players can expect snow as winter starts to set in. On the other side of the world, Southern Hemisphere players will start to see critters that enjoy the warmer summer weather appearing all over their islands.

After the spooky Halloween celebrations that dominate October in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, November is a slightly quieter month. However, there’s still a new rotation of bugs, fish, and deep-sea creatures to be caught in both hemispheres. Anyone looking to complete their museum collections must check in on their islands and explore before Turkey Day arrives to cap off the month.

November is a big month for aggressive and hard-to-find bugs. Scorpions and Tarantulas will both chase and attack players, so you’ll have to time your net swing carefully. Mole crickets have to be dug up, so you’ll need to listen for their chirp.

November Events And Seasonal Items

Animal Crossing New Horizons Turkey Day

In the Northern Hemisphere, players can enjoy Mushrooming Season (November 1st – 30th) and Maple Leaf Season (November 16th – 25th). During Mushrooming Season, you can pick seasonal mushrooms that will spawn every day on grass patches and underground. These seasonal fungi can then be used as ingredients in special mushroom-themed DIY Recipes that can be obtained from balloons.

During Maple Leaf Season, you can catch falling Maple Leaves with your net, which serves as crafting ingredients for special Maple Leaf DIY Recipes. It’s a nice way to celebrate the end of the fall with some themed items and decorations.

In the Southern Hemisphere, November 18th marks yet another Bug-Off event run by Flick. You can compete in the Bug Off tournament, catching bugs to win points that can be exchanged for bug-themed prizes. It’s a fun break from routine, although you don’t need to worry if you miss it, as there’s another Bug-Off scheduled in December.

Finally, Turkey Day arrives on November 26th in both hemispheres. It’s one of the most interactive events in the game, with players tasked by Franklin to gather ingredients to prepare a feast of classic festive dishes.
