What is Choso’s flowing red scale cursed technique in Jujutsu Kaisen? This week’s episode showed an intense and wonderfully animated battle between Choso and Yuji Itadori. Here is a guide explaining how Choso’s cursed technique works.

Jujutsu Kaisen: Flowing Red Scale Explained

Flowing Red Scale is a part of Choso’s cursed technique which comes from his Blood Manipulation ability.

Flowing Red Scale allows the enhancement of Choso’s body. It can increase his pulse rate, body temperature, and the amount of red blood cells so he can have more energy and enhanced physical capabilities. In his fight with Itadori, Choso used this so his body can take in more oxygen.

Choso’s hand-to-hand combat skill is also enhanced because Flowing Red Scale gives him greater strength and speed. Visually speaking, you can see when Choso has this activated because lines that go across his eyes show up. Meanwhile, Flowing Red Scale: Stack is a leveled-up version of Flowing Red Scale.

Choso Cursed Technique Explained

Choso possesses the inherited cursed technique of the Kamo family which is Blood Manipulation. With that, he can control and manipulate his blood beyond its normal capabilities.

This includes red blood cells, blood composition, and plasma. This is why Choso can shoot hard projectiles and attacks that can slice through things. Additionally, since Choso is a Death Painting Womb, he can transform his cursed energy into blood.

Choso Fake Memory Explained

By the end of the episode, we see Choso feeling conflicted and seeing a fake memory of him with his brothers, which includes Itadori for some reason. As a Death Painting Womb, he can feel the death of his brothers, as seen with Eso and Kechizu.

Before he could land the final blow, he felt Itadori’s imminent death which felt similar to Eso and Kechizu. Choso couldn’t bring to finish Itadori off because of this feeling.

If you’re wondering if they’re really brothers, this will eventually be explained in the Shibuya arc.
