Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man joins the animated Spider-Verse in an exciting new fan art after his return to the role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Garfield led two solo movies as Peter Parker — 2012’s The Amazing Spider-Man and 2014’s The Amazing Spider-Man 2 — before the actor’s third movie was canceled. After seven years, Garfield returned to the role in Spider-Man: No Way Home, with his Spider-Man also appearing as part of Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse‘s cast of characters thanks to the movie’s use of archival footage.

On Instagram, artist @suguboii detailed their process of drawing Garfield’s Spider-Man in the style of the Spider-Verse movies in a gripping video.

With Garfield’s recent return to the role and his version of Spider-Man appearing in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse through archival footage from The Amazing Spider-Man, Garfield could potentially be coming back to make his animated debut in the Spider-Verse threequel.

Could Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man Appear In Beyond The Spider-Verse?

Spider-Man Across The Spider-Verse Andrew Garfield

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse‘s ending set up quite the plot for its sequel, Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse. Miles Morales is trapped in another universe with a Prowler variant of himself while the Spot has arrived at Miles’ universe to kill his father. Gwen Stacy has assembled a team of multiverse Spider-Men to save Miles, and Spider-Man 2099 will undoubtedly follow suit with a team of his own.

After returning in Spider-Man: No Way Home, Garfield’s Spider-Man has endless potential, which the actor himself has mentioned, saying, “he’s definitely out there doing something.” With the star being game to continue as Peter Parker as long as whatever project he is brought in handles the character with care, Garfield joining Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse might be a real possibility.

While Garfield and Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Men appeared during Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse‘s Canon Event sequence through the use of archival footage from their movies, Garfield was given more time to shine. His Spider-Man appeared as a big hologram, crying as Captain Stacy died for Miles to see that some deaths are meant to happen. With the second movie introducing live-action characters to the Spider-Verse and Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse likely set to have an even bigger scope to conclude the animated trilogy, Garfield’s Spider-Man appearing in live-action or animation in the Spider-Verse trilogy’s finale is very much possible.
